Northeastern University Center for Financial Independence
January - December 2018
Chief Marketing Officer
The Northeastern University Center for Financial Independence (also known as Thrive) is a uniquely structured, student-run, student-driven financial literacy organization. The center supports all Northeastern students in the pursuit and achievement of financial competency and, ultimately, financial independence.
As the Center’s Chief Marketing Officer, I managed a team of three students, including the Director of Communications, Director of Public Relations, and Creative Director. I oversaw all marketing and communication activities, managed the content calendar, and provided support across all functions. One of my long-term priorities in this role was to clarify the Center’s messaging and voice across all communication channels by conducting a market research study of a significant sample size of Northeastern University Students. I also continued the work I had started as the Director of Public Relations by building new relationships with other university departments and student organizations. Through this role, I learned how to delegate tasks to my team, provide critical feedback, and represent the Center in front of key university stakeholders.
